THE BOOK OF KHALLID
Malik Zulu Shabazz
I predict that that book of Khalid will be the closes thing to having the same impact on the movement as The Autobiography of Malcolm X has had on generations past. Every person in the movement or who considers themselves conscious has read The Autobiography of Malcolm X. It's an unsaid prerequisite that is not force upon anyone but instinctively and naturally occurs. But unlike Malcolm this book can show college graduates that you can be educated, scholarly and still be completely uncompromising with the enemy and have that everyday common touch with the people.

former HU student president is reading the Book of Khallid. I’m thankful for real. I’m glad the former student warriors and future student warriors can identify with our struggles with Dr. KHALLID at Howard University. Very thankful

Chapter 14 is a Howard University Progressive early 1990's BLACK Student LOVE FEST in the most Profound Way-HU!!
Sister Akua N. Zenzele
(formerly known as Terri Wade HUSA President 1993-94)
inspired me when I was in High School Spring 1994 on Connie Chung "Eye on America." Omar Karim was my FIRST example on the campus of a Bold Student Leader-Fall 1995.
I would cross paths with the infamous (I say this with Howard Love) Mathew Whatley (now a Pastor in Prince George's County Maryland) Fall 1997 in his capacity as the Graduate Trustee during my term as HUSA President-the infamous Howard University Street Closing Privatization Act-1997. I also crossed paths with Kasim Reed-the darling Son of the HU Upper Strata at that time.
Akua and Malik have just come off National TV defending Dr. Khallid and Free Speech on the campus-being vehemently attacked by WPost Reporter Richard Cohen. Malik has just come off a Law School Debate, as a 2nd Year Student on the Subject titled "Black Jewish Relations." Quote from Book Below:
"In April 1994, about thirty law students called me to account for my actions in a meeting with the President of Howard University, Franklin Jennifer, and the Board of Trustees. One of the persons at the table was Kasim Reed, the future Mayor of Atlanta, GA, a fellow alumnus of mine, who also attended our lectures on campus. At the end of the day, the University made an official statement condemning Anti-Semitism and Racism. President Jennifer condemned CBS for casting the University as a "Breeding ground for Bigotry and Anti-Semitism.
Importantly, Jennifer declared that NO FORMAL ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN against Malik Zulu Shabazz and HUSA President, Terri Wade, because 'These students had every right to appear on the program and speak their minds.' Some more CONSERVATIVE or REACTIONARY students, like U.G.S.A. VP Mathew Whatley were less conciliatory, claiming Wade and myself had embarrassed the institution and condemned us for making inflammatory statements, while $250,000,000 which Howard University receives annually from the Federal Government , hangs in the balance against one of the most politically powerful groups in the nation.
The NOI Student Group and their Campus Minister Michael Muhammad were stuck in the Middle of it; zealously protecting the University's right not to be slandered."

The late Dr. Khallid speaking on the Power of the BLACK MAN-Feb 15th 1992-on the Eve of the "X Movie" to 200 FOI (Black Men)-Mosque #4
"I don't care if it's on the cinema or the silver screen of the White Man. I don't care if it's the so-called sex symbol he has in his papers or magazines. I don't care if it's his stars or those who are in the top athletes, it makes no difference, YOU ARE THE GREATEST. YOU ARE THE ONE, after Denzel plays Malcolm, but after the movie is over, HE WAS JUST PLAYING. Somebody will come on the screen and play Shaka Zulu, but after the movie is over, THEY ARE JUST PLAYING, but you ain't playing. YOU'RE FOR REAL. You're straight-up. You're in full effect, and if you're not you should be, and if you not, you better be because THE ENEMY AIN'T PLAYING. He's serious. He dreams about you, he fears this because he knows YOUR POWER goes far beyond your numbers, and our power goes far beyond what the eye can see. YOU'RE THE REAL DEAL. YOU ARE THE ONE."
I HAVE LIVED and LIVE these words consciously and intentionally EVERYDAY of my Adult-Life going back to the age of 15. We far too often lift up those who are just PLAYING, and marginalize those who are THE REAL DEAL.

Chapter 7 Book of KHALLID-Page 92:
Partially WHY I have NEVER consolidated nor joined an Ideologically Rigid Sectarian Organization.
Malik Zulu Shabazz and I share similar experiences in Struggle having both been Progressive Student Organizers on Howard University's campus, him beginning in the late 1980's, myself the Mid-Late 1990's. In this Chapter Malik recounts with Immense Pride being the Spark-Catalyst for forming "Unity Nation" a Black Nationalist inspired Student Group. The major triumph for Malik at this period of his development was bringing Minister Louis Farrakhan on campus November 18th, 1988, the same day The Minister's Mother passed.
However, Malik also expressed anguish and dismay at he and his Student Comrades being denied access to the Minister after the event by the Leader of the DC Mosque. All Malik and his Posse wanted to do was Fellowship with THE MINISTER after they labored so HARD to bring him on the campus (paying a $10,000.00 Honorarium)
Malik hit a NERVE here with me. We have both similar but different experiences in this realm. I too bumped up against the SAME Organizational Mess for THAT LAST Fireside Chat with Brother Kwame Ture almost 10 Years Later February 1998.
Difference here is I GOT IN KWAME'S EAR LITERALLY ON THAT STAGE. Kwame bucked his Comrades and rolled with US to the Student Reception in the Basement of Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel, mind you HE WAS DYING FROM PROSTRATE CANCER, 9 Months from his Physical Death. Foundational Experiences that have kept me grounded. Go ALL the Way. Give the FULL MEASURE. JH (We paid the AAPRP Directly from HUSA a $5000.00 Honorarium and had FULL ACCESS but it took some MUSCLE- lol).
Mikhail Muhammad Thank you to Each and Every 1 who Helped Make this Book a Reality!! The Honorable Late Great Khallid Muhammad Deserves This Great Book.
Jordan Bell This book is amazing and eye opening. I knew Dr. Khallid was powerful but this book goes into detail on his power to influence people. As they called him “The sword of Allah” he was just as humble as he was passionate. Very important piece of history and work by Malik Zulu Shabazz
Anthony Witherspoon Congratulations and thank you, Brother, for sharing with the world the life and contributions of one of the greatest and most fearless leaders The Most High has ever blessed us to have in our midst.

The most in depth and factual book I've ever read regarding Khalid, NOI, and the black liberation movement in general. Lots of new gems in this book. Beautiful piece of work.

My Dear friend PRenae Brooks I just received my book and I can't wait to dive in. Thank you Queen Sister.
Kemi Seba :" If I should advise you all who follow me, a book to read and movies to watch, I would recommend THE BOOK OF KHALLID. This book traces the life and work of Khallid Muhammad, the one who pushed me into political activism 20 years ago, the eldest who forged me doctrinally, politically, philosophically. If I later made my own intellectual and geostrategic path, it nevertheless remains the root of my political work. I will never forget that he constituted for me, a political father, a hero, a reference. Presented as a racist by Western media, he remains in my eyes the greatest black militant of the end of the 20st century. May God allow me to take the fight he started, to another level in this 21st century. The level he deserves. Sooner or later, he'll have a statue in his effigy, and a memorial. At least that because that's the minimum his work deserves.
